South West Tourism is the official tourist board for the South West of England and is the lead body representing the seven counties of the South West region: Bath, Bournemouth and Poole, Bristol, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, Devon, Dorset, Somerset, Gloucestershire and Wiltshire. For 36 years South West Tourism has been the only regional organisation working on and representing, the interests of tourism businesses operating in the South West of England. An independent "not for profit" company, South West Tourism has funding from a mixture of commercial and public sources. South West Tourism is in direct communication with over 13,000 tourism businesses and forms the centre of a three-way partnership between private enterprise, local and central government.

Partner's experience in the field of sustainable tourism

South West Tourism's role is to stimulate and manage the development of tourism to bring economic, social and environmental benefits to the people who live and work in the region and to provide a rewarding and enjoyable experience for visitors. This is accomplished through research, sustainability, marketing and promotion, information provision, business advice, training, accommodation standards and tourism policy.
South West Tourism is committed to sustainability and has a broad range of expertise and experience in the field through publications, initiatives, tools, training and materials. This includes the development of an ecological and carbon footprint tool and leading work around climate change. South West Tourism is also a member of NECSTouR a European Sustainable Tourism network and the International Tourism Sustainability Group set up by the European Commission.
